About JadeBase
JadeBase grew out of a personal project that I undertook to organise information on archaic jade and document my own collection. In doing so, I realised that the system would in fact make a great resource for any collector, building a shared knowledge-base, and a fantastic research tool for academics, scholars and scientists.
The database, of over 20,000 artifacts, has been accumulated from the catalogues of prominent dealers and notable public museum collections, amongst other sources, and covers all periods from the Neolithic through to the modern (as well as some fakes!)
My vision for JadeBase is for it grow into a comprehensive online museum and gallery, as well as an active forum for discussion; an archive of organised information, and a record for the future.
I hope you enjoy using the site, and please post-up any suggestions for improvements in the forum area.
